In mid-2005, a number Professional Chocolate Fountain companies (and there were just a few at that time) discussed the need for a "regulatory" body to help and guide the fledgling industry forward. In 2005 there were approximately 120-150 companies operting in the UK; a mixture of part-time (the majority) and a few Professionals. One year later, this figure has risen to approximately 800-900 companies in total. Part-time operators still dominate the industry.

Because of the lack of guidance and general 'help', today as many people are leaving the industry as are entering. It is a fun, exciting and tremendously exhilerating industry to be in. Currently it is one of the most popular forms of gaining peoples' attention and being a focal point at any event - ANY event!

In order to ensure the industy's longevity, Chris Tabor was asked to head-up the Assocation, 'get it moving', create a standards and ethics policy and to promote the industry as a whole. Running his own successful Chocolate Fountain business, Chris is NOT an outsider pontificating or driving from the passenger's seat- but is actively 'out there' doing what he preaches

We do the research and checks into Chocolate Fountain companies that many organizers (unfortunately) do not do and take for granted that the Chocolate Fountain company they have chosen is "OK" and then (unfortunately).... disaster strikes at an event- and there is nothing the organizer can do - just blame him/herself for the lack of credential check and varification of information.
